At RBC Dominion Securities, we know that “community” is something we all create. As individuals, families, businesses, and partners, our contributions to our community come back to us in spades, and enrich the lives of everyone in our region. We are always involved in activities, events, and causes that benefit Maple Ridge. Here are a few of the organizations we support.
Launched in 2007, the RBC Blue Water Project is a 10-year global commitment of $50 million to help protect fresh water. To date, RBC has pledged over $38 million to more than 650 charitable organizations worldwide that protect watersheds and promote access to clean drinking water, with an additional $7.8 million pledged to universities for water programs. Staff from our branch participate by cleaning up the shorelines of Crescent Beach.
$10,000 to $15,000 donation raised per year for Walk Now for Autism Speaks (over $50,000 cumulative so far). Cities across Canada organize a family friendly event that raises funds for research and support family services programs and initiatives. They aim to increase Autism awareness and the issues facing local and national autism communities.
$61,000 was raised when one of our own co-chaired this charity event. Proceeds went to the B.C. Cancer Agency, benefiting the locally Advanced Breast Cancer Clinic at Surrey Memorial Hospital and Ovarian Cancer Canada.
