Professionals at your service

As a team, we take pride in setting the standard for service excellence.

It all starts with you

Our personal approach and personalized service centres on you, and it begins with getting to know you, your needs, and your goals.

What we do

We design investment portfolios to meet your needs, both now and in the future, with a disciplined process to help keep you on track. Whether your goal is growing wealth, generating income, minimizing taxes or planning for retirement, we tailor solutions to your circumstances. Before recommending anything, we review your situation in depth, define your risk tolerance, and set realistic long-term objectives aligned with your comfort level. Depending on your needs, we may also connect you with our network of RBC specialists—in areas like insurance, estate planning and business planning—to ensure that every financial need and life stage is well planned for.

How we do it

Our four-step portfolio process is designed to keep your investments working toward your goals at every stage. We start with a discovery meeting, where we take the time to understand your needs, goals, time horizon and risk tolerance. Then we develop an Investment Policy Statement—the guiding principles for how your portfolio will be managed. With that foundation, we build your personalized portfolio with the right balance of stocks, bonds and cash, in collaboration with the firm’s investment strategists and research analysts. Finally, through ongoing monitoring and reviewing, we keep a close eye on your portfolio, making adjustments as needed so it continues to align with your objectives in changing market conditions.

In our community

A community is like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm.

In Our Community

In 1999, now-retired Investment Advisor, David Strang, founded the Nanaimo Gyro Georgia Strait Charity Challenge. The Charity Challenge requires windsurfing an imposing distance of 40 kilometers, from Nanaimo to Sechelt, while braving six-foot swells and 25 knot winds.

In August 2014 David completed his 7th crossing and Saul raised over $30,000 in donations from corporate sponsors. Since 1999, the pair have raised over $180,000. All monies raised have directly benefitted local Nanaimo charities. Weather and wind permitting, we plan to continue embarking on the Charity Challenge biennially.

In Our Schools

Saul volunteers his time in classrooms, emphasizing that disciplined money management should start early in life. He teaches secondary school students the importance of budgeting, debt awareness, economic choices and consumerism. The discussions offer young people a chance to learn from the experiences and insights of a seasoned businessman, helping students form a foundation of financial knowledge for the years ahead

Our Workshops

Open to everyone, these engaging two hour sessions are designed to assist retirees and pre-retirees in making better-informed financial decisions. The relaxed discussion structure provides visitors an opportunity to pose difficult questions to a Wealth Management Professional. Through our workshops, we are helping lead the community to greater financial literacy.

Serving specialized needs

While we are able to advise on any Canadian’s wealth, our accomplished team has expertise and experience serving the particular requirements of several key groups.

Business owners

With a complete understanding of the unique circumstances facing business owners, we offer fully integrated personal and business wealth planning that always keeps taxes top of mind.

Retirees and pensioners

Whether you’re preparing for retirement or already retired, it’s never too early – or too late – to plan. Because retirement is a journey that can last decades, we guide you in taking every financial opportunity to make the most of it.

Working professionals

If you’re still actively building wealth, we can help you prioritize goals, build your assets while managing debt, and plan for the future, so that you can focus on what truly matters most to you.

Highly affluent individuals

A high net worth requires a best-in-class approach to help manage it. That’s why we rely on our own expertise – and that of our world-class RBC partners – to help you achieve your goals for the future.
