Picton's Coldest Night of the Year: RBC Team Walks for a Cause

On Saturday, February 28th, Davis Beamish was joined by RBC colleagues, Stephanie Barnhardt, Akhil Chittumalla, Wendy McFaul and Alex Purich, as they walked 5 km through downtown Picton for the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) 2026, raising funds and awareness for the Picton United Church Foodbank. The event in Prince Edward County exceeded all expectations, with 26 teams and over 140 walkers raising an impressive $65,000, more than double the $30,000 goal. The fundraiser arrives as food insecurity in the region has surged dramatically, with foodbank demand up 40 percent year over year.
