Life is full of transitions.
Winter to spring.
Snow one day. Rain the next.
People, too, move in and out of our lives in different seasons, for different reasons.
This weekend I found myself reflecting on relationships.
What they are.
What they ask of us.
What they reveal.
At its core, a relationship is simply a connection.
The way two or more people are linked.
How we interact.
How we behave toward one another.
How trust is built.
How support is offered.
How meaning is created through shared experience.
And maybe that is why I find myself thinking this:
Relationships are assignments.

Not as a task list.
But as opportunities.
To learn.
To stretch.
To practise boundaries.
To offer grace.
To receive support.
To be accountable.
To be human.
There are old adages that come to mind.
The obstacle is the opportunity.
In a world of facts and figures,

I found myself this weekend reflecting on the work of being a human being.
